Senior Java Architect - European Institutions – Relocation to Brussels - Contractor
Summary
Senior Java Architect designs and oversees Java-based software architectures for European institutions in Brussels, using Spring, microservices, and Agile practices.
We are urgently looking for a Senior Java Architect for one of the European Institutions in Brussels.Candidates need to be fluent in English. EU candidates from abroad are welcome to apply.
Interviews will be done through Teams, and travel is not required for the interviews. Relocation is required. This role is also open for contractors.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Define JAVA software architectures for applications, taking into account infrastructure and security constraints;
- Develop software development guidelines and provide coaching to developers;
- Ensure quality assurance, validating the source code through pool requests;
- Participate to quality assurance;
- Develop and maintain critical parts of applications in accordance with specifications and technical best practices;
- Create process and data models, draw up technical specifications, build prototypes;
- Investigate technical solutions which meet a list of requirements and standards;
- Assist the project manager in making proposals for the definition of tasks, estimates and deliverables;
- Participate in functional working groups and progress meetings;
- Develop unit and integration test suites, plans and programs;
- Define and integrate technological components or applications;
- Produce technical and architectural documentation;
- Assist with deployment and configuration of the system, coordinating with the different teams;
- Coach and support less skilled developers;
Profile:
- Bachelor or Master degree;
- +8 years of Java Architecture experience;
- Good experience with: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Jpa, Spring data, Spring security, maven, Tomcat, Git, Oracle, Linux, Agile (JIRA, Confluence, JUnit, Bamboo), scrum, micro services (Rest), Jwt, Graphql, Intellij;
- Fluency in English.
