Recruiter Datafin is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer for a 6–12-month hybrid contract in Stellenbosch, working within a telecommunications environment for a bespoke software solutions provider. Day to day the developer builds scalable, reliable backend services using Java, Docker/Kubernetes, asynchronous programming and AWS.

They assist organisations in transitioning from traditional desktop computing to cloud-based environments while providing practical guidance, implementation and governance across digital transformation and Generative AI integration. They are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer for a 6–12-month contract role within a telecommunications environment. These hybrid positions are based in Stellenbosch.
REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Requirements:
• Strong senior-level Java backend development experience.
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with asynchronous programming.
• Cloud platform experience, preferably AWS.
• Experience developing scalable and reliable backend services.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
