Senior Java Backend Engineer (m/f)
Summary
Senior backend engineer at ARHS (part of Accenture) building and maintaining Java 17+/Spring Boot applications and web portals for European institutional clients in Luxembourg. Day to day: REST/SOAP services, Kafka messaging, automated testing, CI/CD, and deploying to on-prem and Azure containerized environments, onsite at the client.
ARHS Group, part of Accenture, is looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join one of our client teams in Luxembourg within a European institutional environment.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of Java-based applications and web portals using Spring Boot. You will work closely with technical and functional teams to deliver reliable backend solutions deployed across on-premises and cloud environments.
THE WORK:
Develop, maintain, test, and deploy Java and Spring Boot applications, web portals, components, and libraries.
Design and implement backend services and integrations using REST and SOAP web services.
Collaborate with team leads, technical leads, business analysts, developers, and testers to understand requirements and ensure consistency across solutions.
Contribute to automated testing and continuous integration and deployment processes.
Deploy and monitor applications in on-premises and cloud-based containerized environments.
Onsite at client site: This role requires an onsite presence with our clients and partners to support project delivery and strengthen collaboration.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Strong experience in Java 17, preferably Java 21 or higher.
Solid knowledge of Spring Framework 6.x and Spring Boot 3.x, or higher versions.
Experience with JPA / Hibernate.
Knowledge of REST and SOAP web services and asynchronous communication using Kafka.
Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG, and mocking frameworks such as Mockito.
Experience with Maven, Git, CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps), and Docker.
Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of authentication and authorization using OIDC / OAuth.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and functional teams.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
Experience in full-stack web development using a JavaScript framework, preferably React.
