Provide expertise in Java development for a major revenue stream within the NSW Government, supporting the prosperous, safe and fair society by collecting revenue, resolving fines, administering grants and recovering debt.

About the Role
We are currently looking out for Senior Java Developers to deliver on major programs of work for NSW Government. We have multiple roles across different teams under various grades. If you are a passionate developer with experience in migrating applications to cloud or keen in exploring cloud native development, we may have some good roles for you to be part of great fun loving and result oriented teams.
In the role, you will learn and guide developers & contribute to the creation of large and complex applications that will facilitate the success of this major program.
About You
As a member of the team, you will:
- Be a hands-on developer while supporting team members and ensuring that delivered solutions meet the business needs and adhere to coding and design standards.
- Have demonstrated experience in coaching and providing guidance and training to less experienced IT professionals.
- Promote and support agile / scrum development practices
- Be strong in forming collaborative relationships with business partners, professional stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and other team members.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to manage customer expectations
- Ability to start asap and hit the ground running!
- Java 7+, Springboot, JBOSS, AWS - Targeted Java Backend
- Extensive experience in Java development, Java 8+ desirable
- Strong experience in Microservice and familiar with Microservice patterns is preferred
- Must have hands-on development experience in AWS
- Experience in Springboot v2.x
- Experience in Spring Data/ Hibernate
- Experience in GIT, nice to have Bitbucket/Gitlab experience but not mandatory
- Experience in SQL Queries, Oracle Queries, PL/SQL
- Should know how to run Spring boot apps in Docker containers and tune docker configurations
- Nice to have React JavaScript framework experience
