Senior Java Developer
For our client from the banking industry, we are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Java Developer to join a large-scale digital transformation programme focused on building the next generation of corporate online banking solutions.
About the Project
You will become part of the Large Corporates Digital Agile Release Train, where engineering teams are modernising a legacy corporate banking platform and replacing it with a new, scalable digital solution.
The platform enables corporate customers to manage domestic and international payments, monitor cash flow and liquidity, and administer company users and permissions through a modern online banking experience. As part of this transformation, you will help design and develop robust backend services and APIs that will support future business growth and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
The team develops and maintains services built using both microservices and monolithic architectures while following modern engineering practices such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Hexagonal (Ports & Adapters) Architecture, and reactive programming.
Your Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Java.
Build scalable REST APIs and microservices supporting digital banking solutions.
Contribute to the migration from legacy systems to a modern architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver new features and improvements.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.
Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.

Ensure high application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 6 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate.
Experience with reactive programming.
Practical experience with REST APIs, SQL databases, microservices, and Git.
Familiarity with Cucumber or other automated testing frameworks.
Good understanding of SOLID principles and software design patterns.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in an Agile environment.

Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
Experience with Hexagonal (Ports & Adapters) Architecture.
Familiarity with Angular (basic understanding is sufficient).

Work Model
Hybrid work model – office attendance required 3 days per week.
