Senior Java Developer (AVP)
As part of Citi Tech, you will build and maintain Java-based systems that power global finance at scale. You’ll work on Unity, Citi’s cross-asset transaction reference, enabling end-to-end traceability from front to back office. The role blends core development with platform support, design collaboration, and continuous improvement in a hybrid, mentoring-led environment. - Build and maintain solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, and application recovery.
- Participate in design sessions with cross-location teams (employees and vendors).
- Evaluate new tools and approaches to improve delivery quality in an Agile SDLC.
- Analyze existing software and propose improvements to design, architecture, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to shape requirements and design decisions.
- Liaise with production support for troubleshooting and debugging.
- Ensure best practices and standards across the development life cycle.
- Provide user/support documentation and ensure performance and scalability.
- Strong commercial Java development experience.
- Experience with REST APIs and authentication (OAuth/Basic).
- Messaging systems experience (Kafka preferred; others include Nats, Solace, TiBCo, RabbitMQ).
- SQL/database experience (Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, etc.).
- Java multithreading/concurrency, Web Services (SOAP/REST), DB2, JMS, MQ, SFTP.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and distributed system development.
