Senior Java Developer
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
- Build and support microservices-based architectures to enable robust, resilient, and maintainable enterprise applications.
- Develop, test, and deploy RESTful APIs for seamless integration across internal and external systems.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka to support real-time data processing and asynchronous communication.
- Configure and manage Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, and message processing workflows to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using Oracle Database, including schema design, query tuning, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications leveraging containerization and modern cloud technologies.
- Implement secure coding practices and contribute to application security, access management, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, troubleshooting activities, and production support initiatives.
- Develop and maintain automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines to improve delivery efficiency and release quality.
- Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to Agile development activities including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Java application development with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and major Spring Framework modules including Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and dependency injection.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful services and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, consumer groups, offset management, and event-driven system design.
- Experience working with Oracle Database, including SQL development, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Maven for dependency management, build automation, and application packaging.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for application containerization and deployment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with distributed teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Cloud Run, Data flow (Apache Beam), BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Workflows, Cloud Scheduler, Secret Manager, Artifact Registry, and Cloud Build.
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar DevOps platforms.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), service accounts, and cloud security best practices.
- Experience implementing logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for cloud-hosted applications.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, streaming architectures, and large-scale event processing platforms.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, release management processes, and deployment automation frameworks.
- Ability to learn quickly and adopt new cloud technologies, tools, and frameworks as required by business needs.
