Senior Java Developer

EaseBridge is a shared services company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, dedicated to supporting fast-growing businesses by providing streamlined and reliable back-office services. As part of our recruitment support function, we are currently hiring for one of our clients for the following position:

Role Summary

This role is suited for a strong backend engineer who is comfortable owning features end-to-end, solving complex technical issues, improving system performance and reliability, and working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, product-focused environment. You will also be expected to contribute to technical direction, code quality, and mentoring junior team members where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot), Hibernate, and related frameworks

Own backend features and services from technical design through development, testing, deployment, and post-release support

Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with engineering best practices

Build and integrate with third-party APIs, internal microservices, and message queue systems

Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability for high-volume, real-time data processing

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements

Participate actively in system design discussions, sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups

Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, QA, product, and other backend teams to deliver stable and high-quality releases

Contribute to unit, integration, load, and performance testing to ensure system robustness

Follow and promote internal coding standards, security practices, and CI/CD processes

Support and guide junior developers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

5+ years of experience in backend development with Java

Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and SQL (MySQL)

Proven experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems or microservices architectures

Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented design principles, and clean architecture practices

Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI

Familiarity with message queues such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, and working with JSON/XML data formats

Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using terminal / SSH for troubleshooting and deployment support

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical delivery

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, etc.

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization/orchestration tools

Exposure to ElastiCache, Tomcat, or MyBatis

Experience working with real-time data systems, high-availability platforms, or performance-critical applications

Comfortable reading Mandarin documentation or handling Chinese-language data feeds
