Senior Java Developer
Summary
Build and maintain scalable Java backend services for a life & pension company using Spring Boot, Azure, and cloud-native practices.
Our client in the Life & Pension industry is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join them onsite September - December 2026 with the possibility of extension.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with cloud expertise and a passion for automation, platform engineering, and modern development practices.
Key requirements
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications in Java
Strong experience with Spring Boot and building scalable backend services and APIs
Proven experience designing and implementing REST-based integrations; experience with SOAP services is an advantage
Solid experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC); Terraform experience is highly desirable
Experience developing, deploying, and operating applications in cloud environments
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Proficiency with Git, Maven, and modern CI/CD practices
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases
Experience creating and maintaining Flyway migration scripts
Good understanding of Azure services, cloud security, monitoring, and operational best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Experience working in Agile development teams and collaborating with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and suppliers
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Nice-to-have
Experience from pension, insurance, banking, or other regulated financial sectors
Experience with event-driven architectures and integration platforms
Experience mentoring other developers and driving technical improvements
Experience working in large enterprise environments with high availability, security, and compliance requirements.
