Senior Java Developer - Enterprise Applications

About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Senior Java Developer to join their core engineering team in Rustenburg . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex enterprise applications that are critical to the company's operations. This role requires a deep understanding of Java ecosystems, a passion for writing high-quality code, and the ability to work collaboratively within a structured development environment. You will contribute to significant projects, tackle challenging technical problems, and help mentor junior developers, playing a key role in the evolution of our client's software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications using Java and related technologies


• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards


• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions


• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior development staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field


• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java software development


• Strong expertise in Java programming language and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC)


• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate)


• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular/React) is a plus


• Understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms


• Experience with version control systems like Git and agile methodologies
