Summary
Senior Java Developer building scalable Java microservices and JavaScript frontend features for a HealthTech SaaS platform used by NHS trusts, replacing legacy hospital systems. Works in a 20-engineer team with AWS/Azure, SQL, Spring Boot and CI/CD, hybrid with 2-3 days per week onsite in Berkshire.
Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong commercial experience in Java
- Proven experience developing microservices architectures
- Solid experience with SQL / relational databases
- Frontend experience with JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Spring Boot or modern Java frameworks
- Experience working on SaaS platforms
- Background in large-scale or regulated environments
- Must be UK-based with the right to work
- Hybrid working: 2-3 days per week onsite in Berkshire
- Design and develop scalable Java-based microservices
- Contribute to greenfield development and system architecture
- Build full-stack functionality across Java backend and JavaScript frontend
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders across the business
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, and software quality
- Support delivery of long-term strategic projects
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team growth
