Senior Java Developer
Contract via Harvey Nash

You will:

• Build and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs in Java (Spring Boot) that power client-facing portal applications

• Model data and integrate with relational and NoSQL databases, depending on what the portal needs

• Work closely with front-end developers to agree on API contracts and make integration seamless

• Deploy and run services in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)

• Apply secure coding practices, write unit and integration tests, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines

• Improve the performance, scalability and reliability of the services

• Investigate and fix production issues, with on-call/support rotations where needed

• Take part in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and technical design discussions

You bring:

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with deep expertise in Java

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot

• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs

• Experience with containerized applications and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)

• Solid SQL and database skills (relational data modeling, query optimization)

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
