Senior Java Developer
Summary
Senior Java Developer designing and building payment processing backend services on a microservices architecture (Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes), including cloud migration, CI/CD, observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry), and technical leadership/mentoring. Requires 8+ years of Java backend experience; based in Poland.
YOU WILL
- Design and develop modern payment processing solutions based on microservices architecture
- Build and maintain high-quality backend services (Java + APIs) with strong focus on performance and scalability
- Create and own architectural artefacts (LLD, data models, gap analysis)
- Ensure high availability, resiliency, and reliability of systems
- Contribute to modernization of legacy systems and migration towards cloud-based solutions
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps practices
- Work with technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh
- Drive best engineering practices, quality standards, and code reviews
- Act as a technical leader and mentor for other engineers
- Identify and resolve complex technical and architectural challenges
- Support observability and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry)
- Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term technology strategy

MUST HAVE
- 8+ years of experience in backend development (Java)
- Strong experience in API design and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture (Spring Boot)
- Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Strong knowledge of system performance, scalability, and resiliency
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
- Very good understanding of system design and architectural patterns
- Experience working in complex, large-scale environments
- Fluent English
