Senior Java Developer (IBM WebSphere Portal)

Senior Java developer maintaining and enhancing large-scale IBM WebSphere Portal applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and CI/CD pipelines in an Agile enterprise setting.
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with hands‑on experience in IBM WebSphere Portal to join an enterprise project focused on maintaining and enhancing large‑scale portal applications. You will contribute to product feature prioritization, technical roadmaps, application development, and maintenance activities while working closely with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of professional Java development experience
- Hands‑on experience with IBM WebSphere Portal, including building and maintaining portlets (JSR 168/286)
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server (WAS), including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Strong Java and J2EE development experience
- Experience maintaining or modernizing existing WebSphere Portal applications
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot
- Experience with GitHub for source control and collaboration
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

- Experience with Azure services and cloud environments
- Experience working with enterprise portal applications
- Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise systems and maintenance activities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide subject matter expertise to AMS and other Center teams as required
- Contribute to product feature prioritization and technology roadmaps
- Design, build, and unit test highly scalable applications
- Provide maintenance support to applications, including incident escalations
- Identify new technologies, trends, and opportunities
- Participate in sprint planning, design, coding, unit testing, and sprint reviews
- Create basic design documents and translate them into component‑level designs
- Design, develop, and distribute reusable technical componentsAssist in developing technical documentation, test plans, integration, and deployment activities
- Define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed application designs
