The Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining technology solutions that support enterprise business objectives. The role contributes to software delivery initiatives by developing high-quality code, supporting automation and CI/CD practices, troubleshooting existing systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement high-performance Java applications that support complex financial transactions, ensuring system reliability for our global trading desks.
- Integrate event-driven architectures using Kafka to facilitate real-time data streaming and processing across distributed banking systems.
- Deploy and manage cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, optimizing resource utilization and system scalability to meet fluctuating market demands.
- Streamline development workflows by implementing CI/CD pipelines, reducing time-to-market for new features and enhancing overall code quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot production issues and refine system architecture, ensuring seamless performance during peak trading hours.
- Manage project lifecycles and track technical debt using Jira, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives across the engineering team.
What we're looking for :
- 6 - 10 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or technology operations.
- Java application development.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS.
- CI/CD and DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitHub, and automated deployment/build tools.
- Source code management and version control practices.
- Platform and infrastructure automation.
- Workflow management tools such as JIRA and Rally.
- Event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
