Senior Java Developer

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Java Developer to modernise and maintain enterprise applications. The role requires expert Spring Framework and Spring Boot knowledge, together with experience across J2EE, Docker, Maven, Gradle, Git, TeamCity, web services, JMS and SQL Server. Experience upgrading legacy Java applications and migrating them to modern frameworks is essential.

Key duties:

• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java.
• Design solutions using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Modernise legacy J2EE applications and supporting architecture.
• Undertake Java version upgrades and application lift-and-shift activities.
• Convert legacy applications to Spring and dependency injection patterns.
• Develop and deploy applications to WebSphere, WebLogic or similar containers.
• Create Docker images and deploy applications as containers.
• Manage source code and branching through Git.
• Configure and maintain Maven and Gradle builds.

Experience required: Due to the urgency of this role, at this time we can only consider candidates currently located in Perth, WA

• Demonstrated senior-level Java development experience.
• Expert knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with Git, Maven and Gradle.
• Significant Docker containerisation experience.
• Experience creating application images and running containers.
• Strong experience developing and deploying J2EE applications.
• Experience with WebSphere, WebLogic or comparable application servers.
• Demonstrated experience modernising legacy Java applications.
• Experience completing Java version upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of dependency injection and application migration.
