Senior Java Developer
Summary
Builds and maintains Java-based microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Maven, while collaborating on system design and testing.
- Provides high level assessment for application system change requirements and technical inputs for user requirements during the preparation of impact document and business case documents
- Collaborates with Business Analyst to provide design inputs and estimates in the preparation of requirements document.
- Documents system design and program specification in technical design document Writes programs and codes based on approved technical design document
- Develop prototypes as needed Conducts unit testing on written codes to ensure program perform per design at the unit level
- Coordinates with vendor or conducts own investigation and resolution of errors reported during SIT and UAT
- Maintain the systems once they are up and running in production, and perform production fixes or application enhancements as needed
- Performs the above function in compliance with software development lifecycle standards of the company
- Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Java Development experience (Java 8+, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Maven, Git) – Non-negotiable.
- Strong experience in RESTful APIs/Microservices, SQL, relational databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL), JUnit testing, debugging, and SDLC (Agile/Waterfall).
- Proficient in API testing and documentation using Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, Javadocs, or similar tools, with the ability to write and understand technical documentation.
- Nice to have experience with SOAP Microservices, Jira, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Kafka, SonarQube/SonarLint, OWASP, UML/Sequence Diagrams, and Linux Shell Scripting.
