Project Description

The project is part of the Credit, Asset-backed & Securitized Products (CASP) division of a global investment bank, focusing on platforms that support securitization and structured finance products.

The primary objective is to migrate existing on-premises systems to a modern Microsoft Azure cloud environment, transforming legacy architecture into scalable, cloud-native solutions. The project involves rebuilding and modernizing systems used for structuring, processing, and distributing securities such as ABS, MBS, and CLOs.

The platform integrates with trading, risk, and regulatory systems, supporting both real-time and batch processing. The target architecture is based on microservices deployed on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), with infrastructure managed through Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). REST APIs and event-driven communication ensure scalability and flexibility throughout the migration.

The project places strong emphasis on high availability, resilience, observability, regulatory compliance, and modern engineering practices, including automation, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development with GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 11+ and Spring Boot in a microservices architecture.
  • Build and enhance RESTful APIs and message-driven services.
  • Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement integrations using Kafka, IBM MQ, or Tibco EMS.
  • Collaborate on scalable and resilient distributed system design.
  • Develop and optimize database interactions (Azure SQL, Oracle, or Sybase).
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high engineering standards.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong Java (11+) and object-oriented programming skills.
  • Extensive experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and message-driven applications.
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications.
  • Strong cloud experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure (AKS, Terraform, compute, storage). AWS experience is also welcome, especially if the candidate has worked with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Solid Linux/Unix knowledge, including shell scripting.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
  • Experience with GitLab/GitHub and IntelliJ IDEA or VS Code.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
