We’re looking for exceptional Senior Java Developers to join a high-performing engineering team in Newcastle, working on a greenfield technology programme within the finance sector.

This is an opportunity to shape new systems from the ground up, influence architectural decisions and build scalable, high-performance applications in a business-critical financial environment.

The Opportunity

• Work on a greenfield development programme, building new applications and services from scratch.
• Design, develop and deliver robust, scalable Java applications.
• Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards and key design decisions.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact financial technology solutions.
• Take ownership of complex technical challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience designing and building scalable, distributed applications and backend services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices and modern development practices.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and version control.
• A BSc degree from a leading UK university.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a demanding engineering environment.
• Willingness to work five days per week on-site in Newcastle.

Salary & Benefits

• £70,000–£140,000 base salary, depending on experience and capability.
• 10% bonus.
