You will be part of a collaborative engineering team developing and maintaining innovative software solutions that support global trading operations. My client provides technology-driven solutions to financial markets, helping clients access liquidity, improve price discovery and benefit from reliable, high-performance trading and data services.
As a Java Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain applications and supporting technologies used within a global trading environment. You will work closely with product teams, technical support and business stakeholders to deliver new features, client-specific enhancements and robust software solutions. You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, with a focus on performance, scalability, automated testing and continuous improvement.
The Person

• 
  Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java and web technologies.
• 
  Knowledge of the Spring Framework.
• 
  Good understanding of multithreading, concurrency and network programming concepts.
• 
  Experience working with Oracle PL/SQL.
• 
  Strong knowledge of Linux and object-oriented design principles.
• 
  Experience developing high-quality, reusable and maintainable software.
• 
  Understanding of automated testing, software optimisation and performance tuning.
• 
  Experience with messaging middleware, such as Solace, and event-driven or publish/subscribe architectures.
• 
  Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• 
  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an agile development team.
• 
  Experience within financial services or electronic trading would be advantageous.
• 
  Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular would be desirable.
