Key Responsibilities
High-Performance Engineering: Design and build low-latency, high-performance trading algorithms and robust distributed system components in Java.
End-to-End Ownership: Lead the delivery of strategic engineering initiatives from initial concept and design through implementation, rollout, and post-production support.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Take ownership of complex technical projects end-to-end, coordinating across engineering, trading, and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership across the team, helping shape modern architecture, engineering standards, and development practices.
Mentorship & Growth: Mentor and up-skill engineers through coaching, design collaboration, and hands-on support, raising the overall technical capability of the team.
Quality Assurance: Raise the bar across the organisation through rigorous design and code reviews.
Relentless Optimisation: Optimise systems continuously, improving efficiency, scalability, latency, and stability.
Business Integration: Bridge the gap between technology and the business by collaborating directly with traders, portfolio managers, and risk teams.

Minimum Qualifications
Concurrency Mastery: Deep expertise in multithreaded/concurrent programming, including lock-free algorithms and low-latency optimisations.
Distributed Systems: Proven experience designing, developing, and scaling highly resilient distributed systems.
Project Delivery: A track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects from start to finish.
People Development: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to the growth of a high-performing team.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business partners.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Modern Tooling: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for planning, code generation, and testing.
Polyglot Reading: Comfortable reading, understanding, and maintaining legacy or complementary systems built in C#.
