Senior / Staff Java Engineer | Kafka, AWS, Distributed Systems

Kraków | Hybrid: 3 days/week in the office

Looking for a role where you can stay hands-on with code, but also have real influence on architecture and technical decisions?

We’re hiring a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer for a global product company building a real-time platform connecting physical infrastructure, devices and backend systems.

You’ll join a small engineering team working on event-driven integrations and distributed systems where performance, reliability and production quality genuinely matter.

Tech stack

Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes

Also: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, Helm and Kafka Streams.

What we’re looking for

• strong commercial experience with Java / Spring Boot

• solid hands-on experience with Apache Kafka

• experience with distributed or event-driven systems

• practical AWS and Kubernetes experience

• production troubleshooting, performance and reliability mindset

• ability to make architectural decisions and take ownership beyond individual tickets

• strong communication skills and English at C1

Work model & package

🏢 Hybrid: 3 days/week from the Kraków office
💰 B2B: up to 35,000 PLN + VAT / month
📄 UoP: around 30,000 PLN gross / month
