Senior Java Execution Developer – Tier-One Global Hedge Fund (Hong Kong / Singapore)
Join one of the world's leading multi-manager hedge funds as a Senior Java Algo Developer, building the ultra-low-latency execution technology supporting systematic and discretionary trading strategies across global markets.
Working directly with Portfolio Managers, Quant Researchers and Traders, you'll design and enhance high-performance execution systems that power the firm's electronic trading infrastructure. This is a front-office engineering role with significant ownership, where your work will have a direct impact on execution quality, trading performance and alpha generation.
What you'll be doing- Design and develop low-latency Java execution systems for global electronic trading.
- Build smart order routing, execution algorithms and connectivity to exchanges, brokers and ECNs.
- Optimise trading infrastructure for latency, throughput and reliability.
- Partner closely with traders, quantitative researchers and portfolio managers to implement new execution strategies.
- Develop scalable, resilient, event-driven systems capable of handling high-volume real-time market data and order flow.
- Drive architectural improvements across the execution platform.
- Strong commercial Java development experience within electronic trading or execution systems.
- Experience building OMS, EMS or algorithmic execution platforms.
- Deep understanding of market microstructure, order lifecycles and exchange connectivity.
- Experience with multithreading, concurrency and low-latency programming.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, messaging technologies and performance optimisation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work directly with front-office stakeholders.
