Senior Java QA Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Java QA Engineer with strong Java skills to join a team focused on backend application development and testing. The role involves testing RESTful APIs, gRPC services, and backend systems deployed in GCP/GKE.
Our client's multisource capability is an aggregated travel retailing solution designed to unite fragmented content. It merges traditional GDS (ATPCO/EDIFACT) data, low-cost carrier (LCC) flights, and New Distribution Capability (NDC) offers into a single, seamless workflow for travel agencies.
This unified retailing approach operates primarily through the Marketplace project and the Cache-powered Intelligent Shopping system.
Key features include:
Unified Workflow: Travel agents can shop, compare, and book across different content sources on a single screen without needing to navigate between disparate airline systems.
Pre-generated Caching: Uses a cloud-based data cube to generate offers at sub-second speeds, vastly improving system look-to-book ratios and reducing search times.
Next-Generation APIs: Utilizes modular APIs like Flight Shop and Order Management to automate searching, pricing validation, and post-booking servicing (such as exchanges and reshopping) across multiple air sources.
By integrating this technology, travel brands and AI-driven applications are able to handle the rising complexity of personalized airline offers at scale"
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for RESTful and gRPC APIs, with a primary focus on backend validation using an internal Spring Boot–based framework.
Perform integration testing of backend systems in a cloud environment (GCP).
Provide support during release cycles, including smoke testing, manual validation.
Develop and enhance test frameworks using Java.
Analyze logs, metrics, and errors to identify and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate closely with development, SRE, and product teams.
Participate in CI/CD processes and integrate automated tests into pipelines.
Mentor junior QA engineers and share knowledge across the team.
Be open to participating in on-call support rotation
Job requirements:
Knowledge of CI/CD tools: GitHub, Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
Experience with containerization tools: Docker, Kubernetes.
Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools: Prometheus, Stackdriver.
Basic scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash, useful for test automation, data preparation and tooling.
Experience using WireMock or similar tools for mocking external services and simulating API responses in integration tests
