Senior Java Software Engineer

Summary

Builds and maintains Java microservices for a trading platform in the financial sector, focusing on credit and interest-rate derivatives with RESTful APIs and high-availability architecture.

For our Client we are looking for an experienced Java Developer who will be responsible for both the development and maintenance of the microservices.

Location: Kraków, hybrid work model – 2 days per week in the office, 3 days remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Build high-end solutions using market-leading technologies across the trading stack
  • Application Specialist role for front to back system for Credit derivatives and IR derivatives trading
  • Propose and deliver sustainable tooling infrastructure for the application including but not limited to DevOps, infrastructure, release management, resiliency and monitoring
  • Contribute to new age tooling and improvisation of existing tech stack and process
  • Understand department’s design principles, represent application in design review forums and interact with IT management and department engineering / tooling forums
  • Enable real-time risk management capabilities for Credit VS trading workflows

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in Java back-end development with RESTful API, Java, micro-services
  • Good sense and experience in high-availability service architecture
  • Good experience in SQL and at least one main stream database (Postgres SQL or Sybase), with basic knowledge in database performance
  • Hands on with AI tooling and models in day to day
  • Experience of owning or leading the delivery a Java-based service / module
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability
