Senior Java Software Engineer

COSMOTE Global Solutions NV is seeking experienced Senior Java Software Engineers to join our innovative ICT team. As part of the OTE Group of Companies, we deliver comprehensive ICT solutions and services designed to drive digital transformation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Lead the technical design of new features and enhancements.
• Coordinate and mentor other Java developers within the team.
• Review code and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
• Drive software quality through design reviews, testing and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA engineers and DevOps engineers.
• Analyze complex functional and technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Ensure maintainability, performance and security of developed solutions.
• Support CI/CD processes and participate in release activities.
• Provide second-line production support, root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  
  

Requirements

Bachelors Degree at a relevant field

7+ years of relevant working experience

Specific excellent experience and technical knowledge in:

• Java 17
• Spring Framework / Spring Boot
• JPA / Hibernate
• SQL
• Design and implementation of REST APIs

Strong experience with:

• Apache Kafka or other messaging technologies
• Maven
• JUnit
• CI/CD pipelines
• Git

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the financial services or banking sector
• Azure DevOps
• Liquibase
• SOAP web services
