Senior Java Software Engineer

Summary

Builds and maintains Java-based reporting and compliance tools, integrates with SAP BO, and optimizes Oracle/MS SQL Server applications for a global enterprise software vendor.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation and statutory compliance reporting solutions using Java-based data export facility extensions
  • Support Java applications and integrations with SAP BO
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Ensure implementations align with existing product frameworks and architecture standards
  • Perform code reviews, optimization, and defect resolution to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and production support activities requiring development intervention
  • Provide technical support during test and production deployments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-location teams to resolve moderate to complex application and software issues
  • Contribute to process improvement and quality initiatives, including automation opportunities
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint reviews, backlog estimation, and status reporting
  • Assist in improving application performance, stability, and maintainability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5-7 years of hands-on development experience in:
  • REST/SOAP web services
  • REST Framework technologies
  • Strong working experience with:
  • Oracle Database
  • MS SQL Server
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • SQL Development
  • Application performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience in documenting business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Knowledge of SAP BO, Data Warehousing (DWH), BI methodologies, and reporting tools is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within globally distributed teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and dynamic project requirements
  • Willing to work mid-shift schedule (1:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
