Senior Java Software Engineer

Summary

Build a new asset tokenisation platform in Java for a major financial institution, solving complex problems and shaping its digital assets future.

We're partnering with a specialist consultancy to build a greenfield asset tokenisation platform for a major global financial institution.

This is a hands-on Java engineering role focused on building the platform from scratch, solving complex technical challenges and shaping the future of the firm's digital assets capability.

You'll be joining at the start of the journey, with the opportunity to influence both the platform and the wider programme as it grows.

What you'll be doing

  • Build a greenfield asset tokenisation platform using Java.
  • Develop new services and platform components in a Linux environment.
  • Work closely with other engineers to shape the design and direction of the platform.
  • Solve complex engineering problems in a fast-moving environment.
  • Use modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Windsurf or Devin as part of the development process.
  • Contribute to a high-visibility programme with the potential to scale significantly.
  • A highly hands-on approach with a clear focus on coding and delivery.
  • Experience building complex, production-grade systems.
  • The ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and changing requirements.
  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with blockchain, crypto, digital assets or tokenisation would be useful, but is not essential.
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Windsurf or Devin would be strongly preferred.
  • The ability to work onsite in London 5 days per week.

This is an opportunity to join the first team on a strategically important greenfield programme, with strong internal visibility and the chance to help shape a platform that could become a major part of the organisation's future digital assets capability.
