Senior Java Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of robust, scalable applications while collaborating within distributed, agile teams.

Please note that working from the client's office 3 days per week is required.

Responsibilities

• Apply Scrum, Agile and Lean principles in a pragmatic manner throughout the development lifecycle
• Identify, escalate and remove delivery impediments and dependencies
• Facilitate collaboration within distributed, multicultural teams
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple teams or locations
• Develop Java applications to meet business requirements
• Work with SQL databases to support application functionality
• Operate within a Linux-based server environment, including bash scripting tasks
• Communicate effectively with global teams through written and verbal channels
• Analyze, solve and synthesize complex problems throughout the development process

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing Java applications
• Deep practical knowledge of Scrum, Agile and Lean principles
• Demonstrated success identifying, escalating and removing delivery impediments and dependencies
• Experience facilitating distributed, multicultural teams and coordinating dependencies across multiple teams or locations
• Solid skills in SQL databases, ideally Oracle
• Comfortable working in a Linux-based server environment, including bash (shell) scripting
• Well-developed business communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience working as part of a global team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Spring framework
• Experience working with MongoDB
• Familiarity with MS Azure Cloud platforms, Databricks and Denodo
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as Git, GitLab Pipelines, Nexus, Ansible and RPM packaging
