Senior Java Software Engineer

Cracow - 2 days per week from the office

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the technical direction of the platform.
• Build and operate distributed systems running in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
• Design, optimize, and support PostgreSQL databases.
• Improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers across Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 21+ and the Spring ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and clean code principles.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience with Kafka, Event Hubs, or similar messaging technologies.
• Experience designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong Git and GitHub workflow knowledge.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or similar AI development tools in daily engineering work.
• Linux fundamentals and scripting experience.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

Nice to Have

• CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Experience working in lab or test environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical discussions.
• Experience creating and maintaining architectural documentation.
• Consulting or contractor experience within Agile teams.
