About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, test, maintain, and support large-scale distributed software systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can adapt to different responsibilities based on team needs, apply strong engineering practices, and collaborate effectively across product, QA, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
Role and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support large-scale distributed software systems deployed globally, including event-driven and messaging-based architectures.
• Apply software design patterns, architecture patterns, and engineering design principles to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software solutions.
• Build and maintain unit, component, integration, and end-to-end tests, including validation of asynchronous messaging flows, to ensure software quality, reliability, and regression protection.
• Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor or coach junior engineers to improve engineering standards across the team.
• Apply secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle and contribute to security-first engineering practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, Product Management, Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Operations, to deliver business outcomes.
• Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using enterprise monitoring and logging tools.
• Support applications deployed on public and private cloud platforms, including AWS and/or PCF.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automation, performance improvement, reliability, and operational excellence initiatives.
All About You
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of strong hands-on experience in software engineering, preferably building and supporting enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and ownership mindset.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Go, with experience using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.
• Good understanding and experience of relational databases, data modelling, SQL, and database design concepts.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks, DevOps methodologies, automated testing, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience supporting applications on public or private cloud platforms such as AWS and/or PCF.
• Practical understanding of AI and large language models, with the ability to apply them effectively to improve productivity, enhance solution design, and support software delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with AWS, PCF, or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization platforms.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD and infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience designing systems for reliability, performance, scalability, availability, operational readiness, and asynchronous messaging using platforms such as Apache Kafka or NATS.io.
• Knowledge of secure engineering practices, including OWASP Top 10 and PCI DSS.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and adoption of modern engineering practices.
