Role overview:

Supporting the Group Digital domain, the Group Operations Manager plays a critical role in enabling the effective performance, resourcing, and operational delivery of the business. The role ensures teams are appropriately staffed, supported, and engaged, with strong oversight of performance management, recruitment, and ongoing operational efficiency. Acting as the connective point between leadership, resourcing, finance, and HR, the Operations Manager drives productivity, ensures consistent people processes, and supports the wellbeing and development of colleagues across the business. This role requires strong organisational capability, stakeholder management, and a proactive approach to resolving operational barriers.

The Operations Manager will have responsibility for approximately 600 colleagues across Group Digital in the UK, KGS and Switzerland and will have a reporting line to the Head of Operations (HoPO) and will be supported by an Operational Support Senior Analyst.

Role & responsibilities

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders within Group Digital.
Work alongside the key stakeholders within Group Digital to support the engagement and culture of the business units.
Develop an understanding of the team’s capabilities and skills mix, using this information to support resourcing, mobility and learning decisions to ensure balanced workloads and fair opportunities, working alongside the Resource Manager and stakeholders.
Work together with the HoPO to develop a high performing community of Performance Managers, supporting them to help colleagues to manage their careers and wellbeing.
Work alongside the Learning Business Partners to ensure their priorities support the strategic priorities of Group Digital and support the co-ordination of learning activity.

Governance & Reporting

Support the recruitment process to ensure timely filling of vacancies (internal & external), considering the requirement for resource type, liaising with the recruitment team and Resource Manager.
Responsible for the headcount tracker and monitoring movements in and out of Group Digital.
Working closely with the HOPO to manage the cost base e.g reviewing direct functions costs and non-chargeable spend against budget
Review non-chargeable travel requests in line with policy and budget and challenge where necessary.
Review contractor data, timesheet reporting and be responsible for any third party invoicing where applicable.
Collaborate with the relevant HR Business Partner and to manage data verification exercises as part of annual activity for salary and bonus.
Monitor timesheet completion and breaches in line with policy.
Scheduled surveys including GPS and Pulse and play an active role in working with stakeholders to identify actions.

Skills & Experience

Technical

Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing large-scale transitions across geographies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate MS skills particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

Essential

Strong managerial and people development skills.
Ability to work independently and use own initiative where required.
Demonstrate the ability to work under ambiguity and shifts in priorities in a fast paced and complex environment.
Competent engaging with the leadership team
