As a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer – Team Lead, you will be working for our client within the global financial industry, specializing in private cloud solutions. You will drive the development and management of cutting-edge containerization platforms, shaping the infrastructure that enables secure, reliable, and scalable services worldwide. This role offers a strategic leadership position with growth opportunities in innovative cloud technologies.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end engineering, deployment, and lifecycle management of the Internal Kubernetes Platform within a private cloud environment.
- Develop tools and automation solutions to streamline platform infrastructure and service management.
- Enhance system reliability, optimize performance, and plan for future capacity needs.
- Build dashboards and visualizations to monitor and improve platform transparency.
- Detect issues proactively and implement self-healing automation where possible.
- Provide operational support to multiple software development teams, collaborating on system design, capacity planning, and platform improvements.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades, including scheduled maintenance outside regular hours.
- Supervise and support a small team of 5 engineers, handling scheduling and coordinating with a global engineering team lead.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 6 years of experience managing container and Kubernetes infrastructure, including production environments.
- Strong expertise in Linux OS, Container technologies, and Kubernetes-native systems such as Istio, Cilium, and CSI solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash, and programming in Python or Golang.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Jenkins and Ansible (core & AAP), as well as observability tools like Splunk and Datadog.
- Knowledge of infrastructure and software lifecycle management utilizing GitHub.
- ITIL awareness and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent business-level command of English (fluent).
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Additional certifications in cloud, Kubernetes, or related fields.
