Senior Landscape Designer & Design Sales Professional

Join a Company Built on Quality, Creativity & Exceptional Client Experiences

For more than 37 years, La Rosa Landscape has created exceptional outdoor environments for residential and commercial clients. We are seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Designer & Design Sales Professional to join our growing team.

This high-impact, client-facing role combines landscape design, 2D/3D visualization, estimating, sales, and business development. The ideal candidate is creative and technically skilled, understands landscape construction and premium materials, and can turn great design into successful, profitable projects.

Position Overview

You will lead the design and sales process from initial consultation and site evaluation through design, estimating, proposal, contract, and project handoff.

You will work directly with clients to understand their vision, lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and budget, then develop compelling designs and guide them through the sales process.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Visualization

  • Meet with residential and commercial clients and evaluate project sites.
  • Develop sophisticated landscape, hardscape, planting, lighting, and outdoor-living concepts.
  • Create professional 2D CAD plans and 3D models/renderings.
  • Produce site plans, planting plans, layouts, details, and other design documents.
  • Specify premium plants, trees, materials, lighting, irrigation, drainage, and outdoor-living products.
  • Design for aesthetics, functionality, constructability, longevity, and budget.

Estimating & Sales

  • Develop accurate estimates, budgets, pricing, and proposals.
  • Understand labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, markup, and gross-profit considerations.
  • Present designs and proposals with confidence and clearly communicate value.
  • Manage the sales process from consultation through negotiation and contract.
  • Prospect for new business and develop repeat and referral opportunities.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve revenue and profitability goals.

Project Handoff & Collaboration

  • Work closely with designers, project managers, estimators, installation crews, vendors, and leadership.
  • Provide thorough project handoffs and communicate design intent, scope, specifications, and client expectations.
  • Identify potential construction challenges early and support a smooth transition into production.

Business Development

  • Maintain accurate CRM records in BOSS LM.
  • Track pipeline, forecasting, closing ratios, project values, gross profit, and other KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, enhancements, and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, construction, horticulture, design-build sales, or a related field.
  • Proven success selling high-end residential and/or commercial landscape projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD and 3D landscape design software.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction, including grading, drainage, hardscape, planting, irrigation, lighting, and outdoor living.
  • Extensive knowledge of premium plant material, hardscape materials, and landscape products.
  • Experience with estimating, pricing, proposals, and business-management software.
  • Strong understanding of costs, margins, markup, and gross profit.
  • Ability to read architectural, site, grading, engineering, and construction plans.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Design, or related field preferred.

What We're Looking For

We want a professional who can do more than create beautiful plans. You should be:

  • Creative & Design-Focused — with a sophisticated eye for landscape, architecture, materials, plants, lighting, and outdoor living.
  • Technically Advanced — highly capable in CAD and 3D visualization.
  • Construction-Minded — designing with quality, constructability, longevity, and maintenance in mind.
  • A Strong Sales Professional — comfortable presenting significant investments, overcoming objections, negotiating, and closing.
  • Business-Minded — understanding that profitable projects require accurate estimating, pricing, scope management, and strong margins.
  • Client-Focused & Collaborative — committed to communication, relationships, and exceptional service.
  • Driven & Accountable — motivated by great design, successful projects, business development, and company growth.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with performance-based earning potential
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development and training
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Company-provided cell phone and laptop
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Opportunity to work on sophisticated residential and commercial projects
