Senior Lead Architect - Design Consultancy

Summary

The Senior Lead Architect supervises architectural design projects, manages the architectural team, and ensures technical quality and coordination across departments. The role requires extensive experience in architectural engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel to deliver high-quality design drawings and project documentation.

POSITION OBJECTIVE :

Supervise the architectural engineering designs, Develop Technical Quality of Work & Issue quality design drawings, Architectural analysis and design for company projects as well as preparation of relevant drawings using AutoCAD. SUPERVISES

Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture, from a reputable university with good grade and language school (preferable) and member of professional bodies in Egypt and/or elsewhere. EXPERIENCE 12-15 years of Experience and up to date theoretical background in principles of Architectural engineering & (modern) design practices with supervisory, site, cost estimate & manpower estimate, value engineering, QA/QC, LEED, health, and safety experience (Preferable). CONTACTS Contacts with his/her department members as well as other different department members, project managers and clients as deemed necessary in Cairo and Jeddah Offices. RESPONSIBILITIES

• The primary responsibility is to achieve the position and supervision objective as stated above.

• Give assistance to project manager.

• Estimate architectural man-hours & follow up regular project status.

• Manage & develop architectural team Efficiency.

• Overseas project activities by continuing and timely communication with the Department Head and to project manager.

• Communicate with all trade to ensure that all the work is coordinated and meets the client expectations.

• Study / Answer/Review / distribute and record all the received technical client comments to apply at the whole project.

• Conduct and attend all Technical Project Meeting.

• Conduct codes and regulation checks and assists the Project Manager in coordination with Cairo and Jeddah project team.

Job Description :

• Conduct timely review and coordination of documents for in-house quality control.

• Continuously monitors the drawings to ensure SDC systems and procedures implementation and to control project program, construction cost and technical quality.

• Responsible for preparing a complete coordinated final architectural set of drawings.

• Responsible for reviewing and coordinating all drawings of all departments.

• Conduct all necessary communication with SDC Jeddah team and make sure of availability of information to Cairo PM and team members.

• Report to Project Manager for regular evaluation of Architectural work to catch & solve problems.

• Report to Project Manager for any technical variation order.

• Conduct timely review and coordination of documents for in-house quality control.

• Assign & Mentoring scope of architectural team and report to Project Manager.

• Follow up & Mentoring progress of architectural work.

• To be familiar with his team members capabilities and to suggest training programs to improve the staff performance.

• Review and approve the technical quality of all work performed within the department.

• Responsible for the annual evaluation for his team members.

• Perform any task of his subordinates when necessary.

• Act as (PM) in case of his/her absence.

• Meet time schedule & alert Project Manager to any problem effects on project program.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Auto CAD and Excel is a must; REVIT is preferable.

• Knowledge of other software, such as: presentation & animation software and M.S. Office packages.

• Excellent communication and team-player skills.

• Ability to transfer knowledge to others in the design and preparation of drawings, specifications and estimates to use in the course of design.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form.

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and directives.

• Ability of gathering, developing and applying modern technical details.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization.

• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with people at all levels.

• Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

• Able to follow up with technical information.

• Knowledge of modern construction techniques and high tech. materials.

• Capable of defining and meeting realistic timelines.

• Continuous self-development and research.

• Ability to listen with creative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to understand the organization’s goals, plans, objectives and workload priorities.

• Ability to establish and maintain working relations with other Departments/Heads and Subordinates.

• Good English oral and written communication skills.
