At ING Hubs Türkiye, we're looking for a GCP Data Engineer who wants to build the data foundations behind advanced analytics, intelligent automation, machine learning solutions, and emerging AI products across ING's international network.
You’ll work at the intersection of cloud engineering, data platforms, analytics, and AI, helping data scientists, ML engineers, and business teams access trusted, high-quality data at scale.
Role Summary
As a GCP Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
Your work will directly support AI-driven products, machine learning initiatives, Agentic AI solutions, and advanced analytics capabilities across ING. You'll collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, ML Engineers, and Software Engineers to create reliable, production-ready data assets that enable business impact.
The data platforms you build contribute to solutions such as customer intelligence, financial crime detection, risk analytics, automation, and other advanced analytics products used across ING's European operations. Data quality, reliability, and platform performance have meaningful impact on real customer experiences.

Our hybrid way of working is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together at our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote.
We also offer additional flexibility during the summer period, with remote working opportunities throughout August, allowing colleagues to spend more time where they feel most productive while staying connected to their teams.
As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations while contributing to solutions that create impact across the bank.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in globally distributed teams
- Hands‑on experience building complex data pipelines using PySpark, Airflow, or similar technologies
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience designing data models and working with relational or distributed database systems
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, version control, and code reviews
Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as:
- BigQuery
- Experience building scalable cloud‑native data solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Curious mindset and passion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning and deployment automation
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as ELK Stack
- Familiarity with MLOps architectures and operational practices
- Experience with large‑scale data transformation and processing
- Exposure to AI‑powered products including Agentic AI systems, Chatbots, or Voicebots
- Experience working with Vertex AI, Dialogflow, or other AI‑related GCP services
- Experience with event‑driven or streaming data architectures
- Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Dataflow is a plus
- Experience with dbt for data transformation and modelling is considered an advantage
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud‑native data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions for large‑scale datasets
- Develop reliable and efficient data models supporting analytics, reporting, machine learning, and AI use cases
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Implement modern software engineering practices, including automated testing and CI/CD
- Monitor and improve platform reliability, observability, and performance
- Support AI, machine learning, and MLOps initiatives by delivering trusted and accessible data assets
- Contribute to engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the team
Data Platform Evolution
Our current platform is primarily focused on scalable batch‑oriented data processing built on PySpark and Airflow within GCP. As our platform evolves, we continue exploring opportunities around event‑driven architectures, AI‑enabled data products, and modern cloud‑native engineering patterns.
Engineers who bring experience with streaming technologies, real‑time ingestion, or AI‑enabled platforms will have opportunities to contribute to the future direction of our data ecosystem.
