Senior Lead Java Engineer to lead the SwapClear Interfaces team in designing, building and maintaining Java-based systems critical to SwapClear operations. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. The role combines hands-on development with leadership, ensuring quality, reliability and timely production support. - Own analysis, design, development and delivery of scalable Java applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business needs
- Lead by example with modern Java, Spring and best practices in software engineering
- Estimate, track progress and liaise with business analysts, developers and CI teams
- Contribute to test automation and design/execution of test cases
- Support production systems and provide timely fixes including out-of-hours support
- Document technical specifications and system design
- Participate in Agile/Scrum rituals (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
- Proven experience in Java-based system design, development, testing, and operational stability
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Strong Java 17+ and frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC
- Deep understanding of RESTful services and microservices architectures
- Relational databases, SQL and ORM tools
- Message brokers
- Front-end basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Test Driven Development (TDD)/Behavior Driven Development
- Cloud platforms and container technologies
- Performance tuning and system optimization
- Experience with CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
