Senior Lecturer for Accounting

The Division of Accounting, Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites applications for non-tenure track position of full-time Senior Lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including executive courses, in the areas of:

  • Management Accounting;

  • Auditing and Assurance;

  • Sustainability Reporting and Management;

  • Data Analytics /Artificial Intelligence for Accounting and Auditing and/or

  • Financial Reporting and Valuation.

The Division of Accounting runs the most established and well-regarded accountancy programme in Singapore and the region, with a long tradition of training professional accountants for leadership roles such as partners in accounting firms, chief financial officers of major corporations and managing directors of companies. The Division delivers a variety of accounting courses in the undergraduate and Masters programmes. These courses are designed to equip students with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to become effective and ethically responsible accounting professionals and business leaders. The Division consists of over 30 faculty members with expertise in several areas including financial reporting, management accounting, auditing, risk management and sustainability. QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidates should have at least a Master’s degree, with a PhD being preferred. As this position is specifically for teaching and applied research needs of the Accounting division, candidates should have strong and relevant industry and academic experience, demonstrated through teaching feedback from tertiary institutions, publicly available outputs (e.g., teaching blogs, webinars), by giving teaching demonstrations or similar evidence of teaching effectiveness. There should also be clear evidence of scholarship of teaching and learning, including research or innovation in teaching and learning. Knowledge of analytics tools, programming languages (e.g., R, SAS, or Python), statistical software, and their applications to accounting will be essential especially for the area of Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence for Accounting and Auditing.

Senior Lecturers are expected to excel at teaching, and service, work closely with students, and contribute to practice-based research, programme development and campus life. Initial appointment term is generally for three years.

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their qualifications and experience.
