Senior Lecturer - Hospitality
Summary
Teach hospitality courses, manage student attendance and academic progress, and lead programme development at a Singapore-based education institute.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Programme Leadership –Hospitality
- Oversee student conduct, discipline, and attendance compliance.
- Manage documentation and ensure fulfilment of SWDA requirements.
- Track and support student academic progression.
- Maintain academic quality, curriculum standards, and programme documentation.
- Mentor students to participate in hospitality / F&B competitions.
- Establish a strong network for internships.
- Serve on departmental or faculty committees.
- Involve in the School's promotional activities.
- Focus on relationship management with existing and potential clients of the school.
2. Student Attendance Management – All Programmes
- Work closely with the Student Management team to monitor daily attendance across all programmes.
- Ensure timely issuance of warning and reminder letters/emails to students with poor attendance.
- Counsel students with attendance or conduct issues and document follow‑up actions.
- Provide daily attendance reports and updates to management.
- Implement and monitor attendance systems leveraging IT, AI, and automation tools.
- Conduct regular spot checks and enforce attendance policies.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of attendance‑related matters.
3. Events and Career Guidance
- Organise career counselling events, talks, and industry engagement activities.
- Provide career guidance and counselling to students seeking employment advice.
- Coordinate industry visits and experiential learning activities.
4. Academic
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical classes.
- Assess student assignments, reports, examination papers and grade student performance.
- Keep an eye on student progress and supervise research students.
- Discuss with students their progress and/or aspirations.
- Organise and conduct field trips and excursions.
- Research a specialised field of study and publish the findings in books or professional and academic journals.
- Attend meetings and conferences to do with research, budget and policy matters and department administration.
- Be part of the Academic/ Examination Boards or any Advisory Boards.
- Organise seminar/ workshops/ public lectures and conferences.
- Plan courses in consultation with other staff, arrange course timetables and coordinate and supervise teaching assistants to conduct classes.

Required Skills/Abilities/Selection Criteria:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and engage students and faculty.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Sound decision‑making capabilities.
- Ability to communicate with students (from China) in Chinese would be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience and academic administration exposure.
- Pedagogical certificate.

- Master’s degree and above.
