Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures

Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures invites applications for a fixed‐term appointment as Senior Lecturer II, Lecturer I, or Lecturer II in the fields of Chinese Foreign Affairs and International Relations, with a possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and available funding.

Applicants are expected to have at least two years of university-level teaching experience, with demonstrated subject expertise and pedagogical competence in Chinese Foreign Affairs and International Relations. The ideal candidate should be capable of contributing to the development of new courses that address China’s evolving role in global governance, regional affairs (e.g., the Belt and Road Initiative), as well as International Political Economy, Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis, and related topics. Familiarity with interdisciplinary approaches and the ability to contextualise China’s foreign policy within broader global trends would be highly valued.

Beyond teaching responsibilities, the appointee will also be expected to provide high-quality academic advising and personalised mentorship to support students’ intellectual growth, research capabilities, and professional development, thereby fostering a dynamic and rigorous scholarly environment within the Academy. The appointee may be required to travel outside of Hong Kong and undertake work including teaching duties as assigned by the University, where necessary.

Qualifications\:

Senior Lecturer II

• A Master's degree in Chinese Foreign Affairs, International Relations, International Political Economy, Global Governance or a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant post-qualification teaching or professional experience.
• Alternatively, candidates with a Doctoral degree should have at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification teaching or professional experience, along with evidence of high-quality teaching at the tertiary level.

Lecturer I

• A Master's degree in Chinese Foreign Affairs, International Relations, International Political Economy, Global Governance or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant post-qualification teaching experience.
• Candidates should provide evidence of quality teaching and/or a proven record of successful, relevant professional experience at the tertiary level.

Lecturer II\:

• A Master's degree in Chinese Foreign Affairs, International Relations, International Political Economy, Global Governance, or a related discipline. Applicants with less relevant post-qualification teaching experience may be considered for this position.

All candidates must provide evidence of quality teaching and/or a proven record of successful, relevant professional experience at the tertiary level.

Applicants holding relevant professional teaching certificates, such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised by the Hong Kong Education Bureau or equivalent qualifications, are preferred. They should be fluent in both Mandarin and English, with preferably some knowledge of Cantonese. Successful candidates must demonstrate versatility in teaching and expertise in Chinese Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

應用政策研究及教育未來學院

應用政策研究及教育未來學院現誠聘固定合約職位的高級二級講師、一級講師及二級講師，支持大學於中國外交與國際關係領域的發展，並根據工作表現及經費情況，提供續約的機會。

申請者應具備至少兩年大學教學經驗，在中國外交及國際關係領域具備專業知識及教學能力，並能參與新課程的開發，課程内容涵蓋中國在全球治理、地區事務（如「一帶一路」倡議）中的角色，以及國際政治經濟、比較外交政策分析及相關議題。申請者熟悉跨學科研究方法，將中國外交政策置於更廣泛的全球脈絡中加以分析，將被優先考慮。

除教學工作外，獲聘者亦須提供高質素的學術指導及個別輔導，積極培育學生的研究能力與專業成長，並促進學院建構充滿活力且嚴謹的學術氛圍。如有需要，獲聘者或需前往香港以外地區工作，包括負責大學委派之教學事務。

申請資格：

高級二級講師：

· 持有中國外交、國際關係、國際政治經濟、全球治理或相關學科的碩士學位，並在取得學位後具備至少8年相關教學或專業工作經驗；

· 擁有博士學位者，須具備至少3年相關教學或專業工作經驗，並能提供在大專院校具高質素教學表現的證明。

一級講師：

· 持有中國外交、國際關係、國際政治經濟、全球治理或相關學科的碩士學位，並在取得學位後具備至少4年相關教學經驗；

· 申請人須提供高質素教學的證明，及／或在大專院校優良且相關的專業工作經驗。

二級講師：

· 持有中國外交、國際關係、國際政治經濟、全球治理或相關學科的碩士學位。具較少相關教學經驗者亦可考慮。

所有申請者須提供在大專院校優良教學表現或相關工作經驗的證明。

持有香港教育局認可的合格教師資格，或具同等專業教學資格者將獲優先考慮。申請人須普通話和英文流利，以及具有一定的粵語能力。獲聘者必須具備靈活的教學能力，並於中國外交及國際關係領域具備專業知識。
