Senior Legal Counsel

You will advise product and business teams on the design, structuring, and launch of crypto, web3, fintech, and payments products. You will assess regulatory requirements, support licensing work, review customer-facing materials, negotiate contracts, coordinate local counsel, and build scalable compliance guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Advise product and business teams on product design, structuring, and launches.
  • Assess products against applicable regulatory frameworks and identify licensing, registration, or structuring needs.
  • Produce practical regulatory analysis on token classification, financial products, indexes, derivatives, and DeFi.
  • Lead and support licence applications, including submissions, regulator responses, and obligation tracking.
  • Track regulatory developments and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Identify legal and regulatory issues early and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders.
  • Embed AML, KYC, sanctions, and travel rule considerations into product design.
  • Review marketing and customer-facing materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Advise on paid placement, sponsorship, advertising, promotions, and disclosure compliance.
  • Advise on conflicts of interest and maintain independence and disclosure standards.
  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance across markets and coordinate local counsel.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts and provide risk assessments.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal teams, counterparties, and regulators.
  • Build scalable internal guidance, playbooks, and processes.

Requirements

  • Be a qualified lawyer with 4 to 7 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Have direct experience advising crypto or web3 businesses.
  • Know regulatory frameworks applicable to crypto, web3, fintech, or financial services.
  • Know financial promotions and advertising or marketing regulation for financial or crypto products.
  • Understand trading, brokerage, or market infrastructure regulation.
  • Have experience across regulatory, licensing, product, and commercial work.
  • Work across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Work autonomously under tight deadlines.
  • Communicate regulatory issues clearly to non-lawyers.
  • Manage competing priorities and multiple matters.
  • Be fluent in English.
