Senior Legal Counsel (f/m/d) – Commercial & IP Law

To further strengthen our Legal Department in Munich, we are looking for an experienced, pragmatic and business-oriented Senior Legal Counsel (f/m/d) – Commercial & IP Law.

In this role, you will take ownership of a broad range of sophisticated commercial and technology-related legal matters across the Agile Robots Group. You will work closely with our Business, Engineering, Procurement and Management teams and advise on projects at the intersection of robotics, hardware, software and intellectual property.

We are looking for a lawyer with a strong foundation gained at a leading international law firm who enjoys taking direct ownership, working close to the business and finding pragmatic solutions in a fast-moving international environment.

  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of complex national and international commercial agreements, including supply, procurement, sales, service, cooperation, development, licensing, software and technology agreements.
  • Independently lead sophisticated commercial legal matters from initial instruction through negotiation and execution, acting as the primary legal contact for the business.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters in a commercial context, in particular IP ownership, licensing, background and foreground IP, know-how and trade secrets, including the IP-related aspects of technology and development collaborations.
  • Advise on complex project-related contracts and support cross-functional teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, including Proof-of-Concept and Proof-of-Technology projects.
  • Handle supplier, procurement and strategic sourcing agreements, including contract negotiations and legal risk assessments.
  • Prepare, review and negotiate NDAs and other confidentiality-related documentation.
  • Act as a trusted legal business partner for internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and international group companies.
  • Provide legal support to group companies and recently acquired businesses within the group.
  • Proactively identify legal and commercial risks and develop pragmatic solutions that enable the business to achieve its objectives.
  • Support other members of the Legal team on cross-functional matters where required.
  • You are a fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) with strong academic credentials.
  • You have at least five years of post-qualification experience (i.e. after the Second State Examination), the majority of which was gained at a leading international law firm.
  • You have genuine, hands-on experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and are comfortable independently leading negotiations with sophisticated counterparties.
  • You have strong exposure to intellectual property law in a commercial context, particularly IP licensing, technology-related agreements, know-how and trade-secret protection.
  • Experience advising technology, software, hardware, industrial or engineering businesses is a strong advantage.
  • In-house experience, whether through a previous in-house role or a substantial secondment, is highly desirable in addition to your law firm experience.
  • You have excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, take ownership and make pragmatic decisions without extensive internal processes or hierarchies.
  • You enjoy working as part of a small, collaborative team and are willing to support matters outside your immediate area of expertise when required.
  • You are fluent in German and English and comfortable negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements in both languages.
  • A dynamic high-tech company, combined with financial soundness and world-class investors.
  • Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment.
  • Lots of development opportunities as we continue to grow.
  • Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth.
  • Corporate Benefits Program covering health, mobility, and learning for 100€ net per month.
  • Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment
