We're looking for an experienced LEGO Robotics & AI Lead, who cares as much about the magic of the learning experience as they do about the result on competition day, to build The Pique Lab's robotics and AI programme from the ground up.

[Your Role As Our Robotics Trainer & Curriculum Designer]
You'll be the founding architect of a brand-new growth area for The Pique Lab, a robotics and AI programme built on official LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and Computer Science & AI kits, designed the way we design everything: immersive, story-led, and hands-on first while genuinely preparing students for national competitions and DSA portfolios.
#1 Curriculum Design
Design our robotics & AI curriculum as an experience, not a syllabus: The same way our STEM workshops turn STEM concepts into storylines and DIY builds kids take home, you'll turn coding and AI concepts into a narrative journey students want to keep coming back to, not just a checklist of technical drills.

- Balance immersive learning with competition/DSA rigour: Every stage should build real technical depth (leading toward robotics competitions and strong DSA portfolios) without losing the sense of adventure and hands-on discovery that makes our programmes memorable.
- Design application-based, DIY-heavy projects: Students should be actively building and coding real, working creations, learning through hands-on application that builds real problem-solving skills.
- Map our curriculum against real competition requirements: You’ll be responsible for studying actual rulebooks and mission formats (e.g. National Robotics Competition) so that our curriculum is built around what students genuinely need to compete, not just general exposure to robotics concepts.
- Design the DSA portfolio pathway: You will help students translate their coding projects into documented, presentable portfolio pieces that stand out in a DSA application, including photos/videos of their working robots, portfolio write-ups, and take-home materials that capture what they made and learned.
#2 Competition Coaching
- Coach student teams toward competition readiness: You will be involved in guiding small teams through mission strategy, robot design, programming, and repeated refinement in the run-up to competition day.
- Own the competition calendar: You will identify which competitions to target each year, manage registration timelines, and run dedicated programmes ahead of competition dates.
#3 Weekly Class & Workshop Delivery
- Lead our robotics & AI classes and holiday workshops: You will be involved in guiding students through hands-on building and coding with the same energy and storytelling that defines our existing STEM workshops, ensuring genuine understanding (not just working code) along the way.
- Keep our programmes ahead of the market: You will be responsible for refining our programmes based on classroom results, and tracking what other providers, local and international competitions, and LEGO Education itself are doing, so our curriculum evolves faster than the market, not just in response to it.

Skills
- Curriculum Design: You can take a raw hardware kit and a target outcome (a competition category, a DSA portfolio requirement, an unforgettable workshop experience) and design a structured, staged path to get there.
- Technical Fluency With LEGO Robotics: You are proficient in LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and Computer Science & AI kits (block-based and/or Python programming, sensors, motors, mechanical builds, and AI/ML concepts); familiarity with EV3 or Robot Inventor is a plus.
- Robotics Competition Know-How: You understand how robotics competitions like FLL, NRC, or WRO are actually judged and structured, and can coach toward that, not just toward "robotics in general."
- Strong Presentation/Delivery Skills: You can wrap a technical concept in a narrative that makes kids forget they're "learning". You know how to capture attention, build rapport, and keep your students engaged.
Past Experiences
- A track record of preparing students for robotics competitions (FLL, NRC, WRO, RoboCup or similar): Share with us team results, student progress, or specific outcomes you're proud of
- A track record of preparing students for DSA submissions or portfolios: Share with us your experience in guiding students who've gone through the entire process with your support.
- Curriculum design for STEM/robotics programmes, ideally hands-on/project-based, with a portfolio of what you've built.
