About the project
We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join a large-scale Data Center Migration program.
The project involves migration of business-critical applications supporting payment card acceptance/acquiring and issuer processing. The Linux platform hosts systems responsible for key business functions, including transaction authorization and high-volume transaction processing.
Due to the critical nature of the environment, the role requires strong expertise in Linux administration, infrastructure reliability, performance, security and High Availability.
Your responsibilities
Administration, configuration and maintenance of enterprise Linux server environments.
Supporting the migration of applications and infrastructure between data centers.
Preparing Linux environments for application deployment, testing and migration.
Building and configuring infrastructure required for new environments.
Supporting application servers and middleware, including JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, OHS, WildFly and Spring Boot environments.
Automating infrastructure and operational activities using Ansible and Rundeck.
Diagnosing and resolving complex Linux, infrastructure and application-related issues.
Performing Linux system performance analysis, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Ensuring high availability, performance, reliability and security of production environments.
Supporting infrastructure activities related to networking, load balancing and TLS.
Working with security mechanisms including PKI and PGP.
Creating automation and operational scripts using Bash and/or Python.
Monitoring environments and proactively addressing performance and reliability issues.
Cooperating closely with Application, Middleware, Network and Infrastructure teams.
Working with Project Managers throughout the build, testing, migration and cutover phases.
Identifying and resolving technical blockers during the migration.
Creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation in Confluence.
Supporting BAU activities alongside migration-related tasks.
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience in Linux administration / Linux engineering, preferably in enterprise production environments.
Advanced hands-on knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Oracle Linux.
Strong Linux system administration, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with application or Data Center migration projects.
Experience supporting enterprise application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, OHS or WildFly.
Practical experience with Ansible and/or Rundeck.
Good scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
Strong understanding of IP networking and infrastructure dependencies.
Knowledge of PKI, certificates, TLS and PGP.
Experience with Linux performance monitoring, diagnostics and incident resolution.
Understanding of High Availability, scalability, resilience and disaster/recovery considerations.
Understanding of infrastructure components including networking and load balancing.
Experience supporting critical production environments.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to quickly understand complex infrastructure environments.
Very good communication and collaboration skills.
Good written and spoken Polish and English.
Nice to have
Current RHCE certification.
Previous experience with Data Center-to-Data Center migrations.
Experience in payments, banking or financial services.
Knowledge of payment card processing, acquiring, issuing or transaction authorization environments.
Experience supporting near-real-time and high-volume transaction processing systems.
Experience working in international, cross-functional infrastructure teams.
