Senior Linux Systems Engineer – HFT - Singapore
Join a high-performance technology team to engineer, automate, monitor, and optimise Linux infrastructure supporting low-latency trading systems across data centres, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes environments.
What You'll Do:
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll help design, deploy, maintain, and optimise a high-performance Linux server platform supporting demanding, low-latency trading environments.
You’ll work across infrastructure, automation, monitoring, virtualisation, Kubernetes, storage, networking, and performance engineering, while investigating innovative technologies and techniques to improve reliability, efficiency, and speed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Linux server infrastructure across local and third-party data centres.
- Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and proactively resolve infrastructure issues.
- Perform system analysis, performance tuning, and Linux kernel optimisation.
- Develop automation usingPython and Bash to streamline software and hardware operations.
- Manage services running withinKubernetes environments.
- Implement and maintain configuration and build management using tools such asAnsible, Rundeck, Puppet, and Foreman .
- Build and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions using platforms such asPrometheus, Alertmanager, Icinga, and Nagios .
- Support virtualisation, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code technologies includingVMware, Kubernetes, and Terraform .
- Troubleshoot storage platforms, networking technologies, multicast, and TCP performance issues.
- Work with database technologies includingPostgreSQL and MySQL .
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tooling.
- Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance infrastructure performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Take ownership of technical projects and complex problems with minimal supervision.
Why Join Us:
- Work onhigh-performance, low-latency infrastructure where milliseconds matter.
- Solve technically challenging problems across Linux, networking, automation, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
- Have the opportunity to influence infrastructure design and introduce new technologies.
- Work in a collaborative, technically driven environment where strong ideas are encouraged.
- Gain exposure to sophisticated trading technology and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Take meaningful ownership of projects rather than simply maintaining existing systems.
About You:
You’re an experienced Systems Engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and finding smarter ways to automate, optimise, and improve systems.
You’ll ideally bring4–6 years of systems engineering experience , advanced Linux administration skills, and hands-on experience with automation, Kubernetes, monitoring, virtualisation, configuration management, and networking.
You’re comfortable troubleshooting under pressure, investigating problems methodically, and taking ownership from initial diagnosis through to resolution. Strong Python or Bash scripting skills, an understanding of low-latency performance tuning, and familiarity with database technologies will help you thrive.
ASTEM degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
