Senior Linux/UNIX System Administrator
Job Description: The Linux/UNIX System Administrator will manage and maintain AFTAC’s Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role will involve managing system resources, performing proactive system maintenance, handling troubleshooting tasks, and supporting cloud-based Linux environments. The administrator will also provide training and guidance to junior staff and assist in system migrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Linux/UNIX-based systems, including RedHat and Solaris, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Perform proactive space management, scalability improvements, and implement high-availability strategies.
- Support system migrations, including physical-to-virtual conversions and cloud integrations.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system uptime.
- Develop and document scripts for automation of administrative tasks.
- Assist in the development of IT infrastructure replacement plans and hardware refresh cycles.
