Job Description

Effective lifecycle logistics and sustainment planning are critical to ensuring Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) capabilities remain reliable, supportable, and ready to perform their mission when needed. Sumaria Systems is seeking a Senior Logistics Management Specialist to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Program Executive Office Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (PEO NC3) mission at Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts.

This position provides senior-level logistics management, acquisition support, and lifecycle sustainment expertise supporting complex Department of Defense systems and capabilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced Air Force or DoD logistics professional who understands how acquisition, engineering, sustainment, configuration, technical data, supply support, and program management activities come together across the system lifecycle.

In this role, you will provide senior logistics management and analytical support to NC3 programs and Government leadership. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide senior-level logistics management and lifecycle sustainment support for assigned NC3 systems, programs, and capabilities.
  • Develop, evaluate, coordinate, and maintain logistics and product support strategies throughout the acquisition and system lifecycle.
  • Analyze logistics requirements, sustainment risks, supportability issues, and readiness impacts and provide recommendations to Government program leadership.
  • Support implementation and integration of applicable Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements across assigned programs.
  • Coordinate logistics requirements across engineering, acquisition, program management, cybersecurity, configuration management, contracting, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support development and maintenance of lifecycle sustainment plans, logistics documentation, program strategies, schedules, briefings, and decision-support products.
  • Evaluate maintenance concepts, support equipment, supply support, technical data, training, manpower, facilities, and other sustainment requirements.
  • Analyze system supportability, availability, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle considerations to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support provisioning, spares planning, inventory management, repair strategies, and supply-chain activities as applicable to assigned systems.
  • Assist with development and evaluation of sustainment metrics, readiness indicators, logistics performance measures, and program risks.
  • Support configuration management activities and evaluate the logistics and sustainment impacts of engineering or configuration changes.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), technical reviews, program reviews, working groups, and other Government-led meetings.
  • Review technical, engineering, acquisition, and logistics documentation to identify potential lifecycle support impacts.
  • Support planning for technology refresh, diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS), obsolescence, modifications, and system modernization.
  • Assist with cost, schedule, performance, and risk analysis related to logistics and sustainment activities.
  • Coordinate logistics actions and requirements across Government organizations, contractors, operational users, and other program stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver leadership-ready briefings, reports, analyses, recommendations, and status updates.
  • Track logistics actions, risks, issues, and decisions through resolution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations that improve system readiness, supportability, affordability, and long-term mission effectiveness.

Required Skills/Education

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Program Management, or a related discipline is desired. Relevant DoD logistics and acquisition experience may be considered in lieu of a specific degree requirement where permitted by the contract.

Years of Experience: Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in logistics management, lifecycle logistics, product support, sustainment, acquisition logistics, or related Department of Defense activities is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • United States Citizenship.
  • Current Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility/access (TS/SCI).
  • Senior-level experience supporting DoD logistics, acquisition, sustainment, or lifecycle management activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of lifecycle logistics and Integrated Product Support principles.
  • Experience analyzing logistics and sustainment requirements and developing recommendations for Government or program leadership.
  • Experience coordinating logistics activities across engineering, program management, acquisition, contracting, and operational organizations.
  • Ability to evaluate supportability, readiness, sustainment risks, and lifecycle impacts associated with complex systems.
  • Experience developing and reviewing logistics plans, technical documentation, briefings, reports, and decision-support products.
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition and sustainment environments.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive program requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, PEO NC3, or related nuclear enterprise programs.
  • Experience supporting Air Force acquisition programs at Hanscom AFB.
  • Experience with the 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements.
  • Experience with Product Support Management, Supply Support, Maintenance Planning and Management, Technical Data, Support Equipment, Training and Training Support, and related IPS activities.
  • Experience supporting major weapon systems, communications systems, C5ISR, or other mission-critical DoD capabilities.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, technical orders, provisioning, DMSMS/obsolescence management, and supply-chain risk.
  • Experience participating in IPTs, technical reviews, program reviews, and acquisition milestone activities.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition and lifecycle management policies and processes.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) or Defense Acquisition Credentialing and Certification Program credentials in Life Cycle Logistics or a related functional area.

Travel: Limited travel may be required in support of program objectives.

Security Clearance Required: Top Secret with SCI access (TS/SCI)

Position Type: Full Time

Salary: $140k-$150k Annually
