Senior Microsoft 365 Support Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Support Engineer to join our enterprise IT team. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on resolving complex Microsoft 365 platform issues, driving automation, strengthening security and governance, and supporting continuous platform improvements across a global environment.

Beyond day-to-day support, you will lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implement long-term improvements, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with architects and service owners on strategic platform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Platform

  • Lead complex troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Deliver permanent fixes for recurring platform issues and drive operational improvements.

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise governance, security, and compliance standards.

  • Develop advanced PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation for large-scale administration, reporting, and operational efficiency.

  • Manage Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance solutions, including:

    • Microsoft Purview

    • Conditional Access

    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

    • Retention Policies

    • Sensitivity Labels

  • Architect and implement platform enhancements across Microsoft 365 services.

  • Collaborate with architects and service owners on solution design and platform strategy.

  • Mentor L1/L2 engineers through documentation, knowledge sharing, and technical coaching.

Power Platform

  • Troubleshoot complex Power Automate workflows, custom connectors, and integration issues.

  • Resolve Dataverse security, schema, capacity, and environment-related challenges.

  • Optimize Power Apps for performance, governance, and security.

  • Support Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives, ALM processes, and DLP implementation.

  • Improve platform reliability through automation, monitoring, and operational best practices.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of hands-on enterprise Microsoft 365 administration experience.

  • Expert knowledge of:

    • Exchange Online

    • SharePoint Online

    • Microsoft Teams

    • OneDrive

    • Microsoft Purview (Security & Compliance)

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including:

    • Conditional Access

    • MFA

    • Identity Governance

    • Authentication

    • Hybrid Identity

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph automation.

  • Strong Power Platform administration experience:

    • Power Apps

    • Power Automate

    • Dataverse

  • Experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing long-term platform improvements.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 governance, security, compliance, and tenant architecture.

  • Experience with monitoring and diagnostics tools such as:

    • Message Trace

    • CQD / Call Analytics

    • Audit Logs

    • Sign-in Logs

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving operational excellence.

  • Experience working in enterprise environments with 24/7 rotational support.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing enterprise Microsoft 365 platform architecture.

  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, SC-400 or similar).

  • Experience with automation-first operational models.

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management.
