Our client is building a world-class AI and data platform and is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and operating large-scale machine learning pipelines that transform complex data into trusted business intelligence.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team where you'll own the entire ML production lifecycle—from raw data ingestion and feature engineering through to model deployment, monitoring and production-ready datasets.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and operating production-grade ML systems that deliver high-quality, trusted data products.
You’ll:
- Design, build and own end-to-end automated data and machine learning pipelines
- Develop scalable feature engineering and ETL frameworks
- Build training and inference pipelines that transform engineered features into production-ready outputs
- Implement robust data quality frameworks, validation checks and governance processes
- Design model monitoring, drift detection and inference monitoring to ensure reliable production performance
- Optimise orchestration, scalability and cost across cloud-based data platforms
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers and Software Engineers to deliver AI-powered products
- Drive engineering best practices around automation, reliability and operational excellence
Requirements:
- 6-9 years' experience building production machine learning and/or data engineering pipelines
- Strong expertise in Python and Apache Spark
- Hands-on experience with orchestration platforms such as Airflow or Databricks Workflows
- Experience with feature engineering, ETL development and modern cloud data platforms
- Practical experience using machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn or XGBoost
- Strong understanding of production ML operations, model monitoring and drift detection
- Experience implementing data quality frameworks and automated validation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
Highly Desirable
- Azure and Databricks experience
- Experience working in highly regulated or data-intensive industries
