Senior Machinist

Quanex is looking for a Senior Machinist to join our team located in Statesville, NC. Hours are 6:00 am – 2:30 pm. Monday through Friday.

Summary: The Senior Machinist is a skilled CNC machinist capable of independently producing precision components while applying sound machining practices and troubleshooting routine manufacturing issues. Working with limited supervision this position requires a working knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals and the ability to understand, interpret, and modify CAM-generated programs.

What Success Looks Like:

• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment, and manual machining equipment with limited supervision
• Select tooling, cutting parameters, and machining methods to optimize production efficiency.
• Perform machine troubleshooting and recommend process improvements.
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards, making proper use of PPE and use of LOTO, as required.

Your Credentials:

• GED or High School education preferred.
• Minimal (5) yrs. Machining, Toolmaker, repair experience or equivalent education/experience required.
• CAD/CAM software experience required (AutoCad, Esprit, Mastercam, etc.)
